HOUSE CALLS IN THE JUNGLE

Next time you drive through construction on the interstate, think about these first few photos from our last mission trip to the Philippines. Our medical team was given the opportunity to work with Dr. Joy Sanico and her staff as they hosted medical camps in remote places. These medical camps were also supported by their military forces and so our American nurses got a real treat getting to see things so different than what they see at home...

It's one thing to get stuck in the mud, but these guys were stuck axle-deep in the mud. The area that they were going was extremely remote and desperately in need of attention. We praise God for the funds that we were able to collect in order to buy medicine for these people. In two days of medical camps, our team combined Dr. Sanico' staff, a military dentist and the rest of the team saw almost 900 in two days!  Because the Filipino economy gives us so much more buying power, we were able to buy enough medicine for those two medical camps and still have some left for a third location.

Here are some more pics for you to enjoy from this first medical camp. We are very grateful for the hospitality of Dr. Sanico and her team. What a great blessing they were to us.

One of the displays of medicine that we purchased for these medical camps, thanks to the wonderful financial support from people like you.

Several teeth were pulled that day... without any medication to numb the gums. That's how they do it.

These kids were singing a song they made up about Kentucky which included hand motions. With your hands on top of your head like this, you would be singing about McDonald's.

This was some porridge made up for the kids.

This time as we begin to raise funds for our mission trip, we are excited to add a "gofundme" page so that you can give online. Just go to http://www.gofundme.com/hmd2p8 and you can make a donation using your debit or credit card. This site has been given an A by the Better Business Bureau and is safe for you to use.
